Finally finished!

I just finished another mural. Actually, I'm not sure if this is called a mural or not. Whatever it is, it's sure better than the old paint color our school is painted in: Overcast Day.You can't really see them, but I hid ladybugs in the words. Our principal loves ladybugs.

Working on the ladder is not my favorite but I'd say it was well worth it. A little ray of sunshine to greet our visitors.

Finished!

I just finished painting this nursery for Emily.

I love, love, love the fabric she picked for the curtains! I tried to incorporate the paisleys into the design of the birds:

One side of the wall:
The owl:
The other side of the wall:
Over the door:
Left side again:
The entire tree:
This was definitely a fun wall to work on. Emily wasn't very specific so it was nice to be able to do what I wanted to do, but that's always kind of scary. When that happens, I'm always afraid that people won't have the same taste as me. Either way, it was fun to do, and I think they like it!

Saying goodbye

I painted a 6-panel painting in college. I took my two favorite panels and decided to doodle over them. I LOVE the result:

As is my M.O., when I make something, I keep it for awhile and then decide it needs to find a new home. I don't hold onto things forever. I may have hoarding tendencies but I definitely feel the need to purge every now and then.

Sometimes things go to the trash, sometimes they get re-purposed (like these), and sometimes, very seldom, they are passed on to someone else. It's a seldom occurrence- not because I'm stingy but because I don't always assume that someone could find a place on their walls for a 4' x 6' manifestation of the inner workings of my mind.

This one goes to a friend who happens to love the inner workings of my mind.

For the grown-ups... kinda

My husband is a nerd. I don't say that judgmentally... usually I'm right there with him. I'm pretty sure that being raised with the brothers I have prepared me to be married to such a man. I know more about dragons and wizards and Lord of the Rings than any girl has a right to, but I enjoy it and such is my life.

For Christmas I made him and some friends some shirts:

If you understand the shirts, then you're in good company. :)

My husband's family is Hawaiian and these were a few Christmas presents for them:

Isn't the joy of Christmas just written on my brother-in-law's face? Eh, it's hard to get an 18 year old enthusiastic about much.

Santa's workshop

To me, the Holidays mean plenty of reasons to make stuff! Here are some cards I made for the ladies at school:

...and some more of those green and red frames. These are so fun! One of the secretaries at work ordered these and is putting pictures of her daughters (now grown with children of their own) on Santa's lap in them. What a cool idea!

God is great

I painted a few of these for some ladies at work.

It was a great idea! It looks good in her kitchen, as she was nice enough to send me a picture after I forgot to take one myself.

Sweet Girl

Almost 3 years ago, I painted these for a sweet little baby girl. Pretty soon I'll be doing some more for her baby sister. I can't wait to meet her!!
